Learn the lost art of timber framing at 12 Crows. John Campbell, our shop master, will lead a weekend framing class and teach this traditional form of joinery. The class will learn the ins and outs of mortise and tenon joinery while constructing a large 20 ft x 12 ft post and beam classroom and entry in front of 12 crows. Timber-framing is a traditional method for construction using large timbers and carefully fitted joints to make beautiful structures. This class will teach students how to plan and layout a timber-frame structure, the art of traditional joinery, and many more useful woodworking techniques. This class will be held October 25-27 and all materials and equipment will be provided. Tuition is $150-- no previous experience required. Eventbrite registration below says that the class is free, but the tuition will be due on the first day of the class.
